Mr. Waman
Mahaduji Turukmane

Mr. Waman Mahaduji Turukmane is a retired government servant who served in Mantralaya, Maharashtra State, from 1984 to 2011. Over the years, he worked in different departments and gained valuable experience in administration and public service.

Even during his service, he was always inclined towards helping people — especially those without access to proper guidance or opportunities. He supported many individuals in education, career guidance, and skill development, often at a personal level.

After retirement, he decided to take his efforts forward in a more organised way, leading to the formation of Lahajai Foundation — aimed at reaching more people through structured and meaningful support.

“Consistent efforts, even at a small level, can make a real difference in people’s lives.”

Ms. Vaishali
Wamanrao Turukmane

Ms. Vaishali Wamanrao Turukmane is pursuing her Ph.D. and is driven by a strong commitment to social impact. As the daughter of Mr. Waman Mahaduji Turukmane, she grew up witnessing his genuine dedication to helping people, which deeply influenced her from an early age.

She is now carrying forward this legacy through Lahajai Foundation, working towards creating structured and sustainable solutions for community development. Her academic rigour and ground-level empathy make her approach both evidence-based and deeply humane.

Her vision is to build systems that empower individuals from underprivileged backgrounds to become self-reliant, confident contributors to society — translating her father’s lifelong mission into scalable, lasting impact.

“Sustainable change comes from structured compassion and the courage to act on it.”
